Summary:

Phaedra Solutions is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Sr. QAE) to join our team. The Sr. QA Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing exploratory tests to ensure project quality. This role involves designing and implementing tests, debugging software, and defining corrective actions. The Sr. QAE will review system requirements, track quality assurance metrics, and play a vital role in our company's project development process. We are looking for a candidate with an engineering background who enjoys providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems. The ideal candidate will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. Additionally, this role requires strong interpersonal skills to manage a team of junior quality assurance engineers.

Responsibilities:

- Create quality assurance management plans.

- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely feedback.

- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.

- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.

- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing projects to meet client needs.

- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., engineering, business, and managers) to identify system requirements.

- Monitor debugging process results.

- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.

- Track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.

- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

- Train and mentor team members.

Qualifications:

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.

Experience:

- At least 4 years of proven work experience in software quality assurance or a relevant field.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and reporting bugs.

- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.

- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with exceptional English speaking skills, are essential.
